Reimagine rural CAMPAIGN

Join Us In Offering Rural Communities An Opportunity of A Lifetime.

"We must find fresh ways to capture and value the direct and rippling economic social, and health benefits rural communities experience."  ~Suzanne Anarde

The Reimagine Rural Campaign  offers a beautiful space in the Flint Hills of Kansas where experiential and responsive services shape lives.  If you believe in the development of essential community facilities in rural areas, better access to digital technology, supportive educational programs, improving access to care, rural-urban interdependence, public services and facilities, cultural amenities, uses of outdoor spaces and quality of life are important, then enhancing and expanding our facilities through The Reimagine Rural campaign deserves your support.

The FSL Rural Vitality Center will support programs and offer vital services to communities that will address systematic problems that we are facing in rural communities.

The FSL brings you The Reimagine Rural Campaign to provide funds for a three phase facilities project that supports a feasibility study. The Capital Campaign will launch July  2022 and will be a three year phase project, with an exciting 3-6 month public phase. The raise will consist of public funding, private funding, donor funding, mergers & acquisitions, crowdfunding and more.

INVEST IN RURAL!

Investing in rural areas is a long-term solution to so many of the problems we face today

"The current economic crisis in the United States requires a renewed commitment to investing in rural communities in order to ensure that they have a prominent place in this countries future. The onset of the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting economic crisis further exposed the vulnerability of rural communities. We cannot continue to drain rural areas of their resources and wealth as it continues to make the overall economy less resilient."  ~Olugbenga Ajilore

Investing in rural people is a long term solution to many problems we face today; lack of mental health services, education equity, poverty, unemployment and more. Each of these things can be improved by rural development to assist in strengthening rural economies with attractive prospects for young people so that they can stay in Kansas.    The FSL has created a rural-urban linkage that works.  The interaction between rural and urban areas are important for social and economic development.

The FSL provides opportunities though our infrastructure and services that creates employment, offers mental health services and shares resources that build and sustain strong rural-urban linkage.

Future Service Leaders Foundation will set the stage for raising the profile in rural investment as we create an abundance of opportunity to assist in change and growth of our members.

THE FUTURE Vitality Center

Reimagine Rural

For more than a year, our FSL foundation has prepared for The Reimagine Rural campaign. A feasibility study indicated a phased approach, along with a clear vision would make The Reimagine Rural Campaign most successful. Following feasibility, the highly experienced architectural firm of Anderson Knight Architects. were selected to design a state of the art Rural Vitality Center. This Center will host Innovative experiences provided by The ECenter of Kansas a for profit subsidiary.

BHS Construction of Manhattan, Kansas will lead the way in our construction as they have worked with over 2000 projects and have a long history of being active in community and developing strong partnerships. We are excited to work with their incredible team and they help deliver a transformational facility.

  • The FSL- (phase one) is looking to acquire 350 acres of land for the construction of facilities. The site location has not been determined at this time but we are looking into three specific areas of focus for the future home of our facilities. Our facility is a rural vitality center that must support small rural communities with populations of less than 5000.

The future property will include a rural vitality center, a hillside amphitheater, hiking trails surrounded by nature,  outdoor spaces (entry gardens, bridges, ponds, terraces and beautiful landscape). The design concept provides panoramic views of the hills to the north, south, east and west and the trails and spaces are full of nature including cattle that surround the facility in a pasture. Spaces abound for experiential services and hub spaces that bridge the mental health services gap and education learning gaps in rural areas.

Our Capital Campaign Phase Plan- ($15M Year one)

There are three phases in any capital campaign. The planning phase, the quiet phase and the public phase. At this time we are in the planning phase where we are working on the preparation, development, research, evaluation, land surveys, architectural renderings and more. We have conducted the feasibility study and are looking at our digital strategy. We have been in our quiet phase  and  focused  on donor relations, fundraising events, building corporate partnerships, challenge grants, matching gifts and more. Our final phase will be the public 3-6 month phase that will begin March of 2023. This phase will kick off our capital campaign to the public and complete phase one of our process.
